GENERAL QUESTIONS

ClassBoard is an easy-to-use App which involves parents directly in their chidren’s day-to-day school activity. ClassBoard allows teachers to showcase photographs of the childrens work and activities, right from the classroom, answering the 'What did you do in school today?' question for you!
ClassBoard has been built from the ground up specifically for the classroom environment. As a member of the Avantis educational family, all of our tried and tested services are custom made by teachers, for teachers.

ClassBoard is therefore designed for education, and helps both teachers and parents make the best use of technology to keep in touch between parents evenings. It's completely secure: parents and carers need a unique ID to access the school feed, unlike with other social media.
ClassBoard is completely FREE for both teachers and parents to use!

QUESTIONS FROM SCHOOLS

We recognise that teachers have numerous pressures on their time in the classroom. ClassBoard is designed to seamlessly slip into the classroom environment, and actually save teachers time while actively engaging parents in the day-to-day activities of their children.

Parents can see the work that their child has completed during the term, as it unfolds. They can keep up-to-date with each day's learning, and have a jumping-off point for discussions with their child about school. Watch engagement increase as parents and carers are more closely involved with classroom life. Parents often find it difficult to know how best to support teaching at home; perhaps they're not sure they're doing things 'the right way'. ClassBoard's flexibility allows teachers to be creative with the content they post; a video of a calculation method, or of pupils practising their phonic skills accurately, could give parents the confidence that their support is appreciated and useful.

If your school already uses the award winning 'ClassConnect' service from Avantis, then all you will need to do is:

  • Log into ClassBoard directly by visiting classboard.learnpad.com and clicking the 'Login' button.
  • From here you can begin to publish and organise your school day photographs and files in a convenient central location.
  • You can also view your school's unique 'Access Code' which is shown on the right hand side of the page. This key can be passed on to parents, so that they can view all of the great work that you are publishing on ClassBoard. You can also view your unique 'QrKey' in the same location.
  • Schools can direct parents to the www.classboard.school homepage, where simply inputting the schools Access ID Key will showcase everything that's happening directly from within the classroom. Alternatively, the 'QrKey' image can be printed on a newsletter or published elsewhere, allowing parents to simply scan the key with their ClassBoard App.

If your school is new to Avantis Systems, you will simply need to run through the following steps to get up and running:

  • Visit the 'ClassBoard' Registration Page, and create an account for your school.
  • Once you're set up, you can view your school's unique 'Access Token' which is shown on the right hand side of the page, along with your unique 'QrKey' in the same location. This key can be passed on to parents in either form, so that they can view all of the great work that you are publishing on ClassBoard.
  • Schools can direct parents to the www.classboard.school homepage, where simply inputting the school's Access ID Key will showcase everything that's happening directly from within the classroom.
  • As a registered school, you can then begin publishing all of your exciting photos, videos and files directly to ClassBoard, where the images can be organised and named. Parents can start viewing these immediately.
All of the material that your school publishes to ClassBoard will remain your property. You will retain full control over these files, and can delete any content at any time through simply logging into ClassBoard directly and removing anything you're not happy with.
We've designed ClassBoard from the ground up to be a safe and secure environment, in which teachers can involve parents in the day-to-day activity of their children's class. With this in mind, we issue schools with an Access ID Key which is unique to them, and should only be known and used by people associated with that single school.

If a school feels that this Access ID Key may have fallen into the wrong hands, this key can always be changed - just contact Avantis Systems directly and we'll be more than pleased to help out.
The maximum number of photographs that can be stored on a ClassBoard account depends on the size and quality of the images and videos that are being published. The ClassBoard account initially includes 2000 MB of storage space - this is typically enough for approximately 1500 photographs of average size.

Older images and videos within your account can always be deleted at any time to free up space. Once they are deleted, they will no longer be available so take care when removing images. If your school would like additional storage space, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Avantis directly and we'll be more than pleased to help out.
ClassBoard is part of the Avantis family of educational products and services. We focus solely on technology which helps teachers teach, and children learn. We've fully integrated ClassBoard with a number of our other services to make life easier for schools: you can take photographs with your LearnPad classroom tablets, which can be shared on ClassBoard, from within your ClassConnect learning portal.

QUESTIONS FROM PARENTS

ClassBoard helps you to become fully immersed in the day-to-day activities that your child is involved in at their school. Using photographs and video clips that are taken by both teachers and pupils, ClassBoard offers you a window directly into their classroom for the first time. You no longer need to wait until parents' evening to see what your child has been working on - you can discuss their experiences from day-to-day, and link school-based learning with the invaluable learning that happens constantly at home.
You may have had a notification from your school to let you know that they are using the ClassBoard service - if so, you can simply just ask your school for their Access ID Key. This key can either be input into the ClassBoard homepage, or directly into the ClassBoard App. You will then have full access to all of the material that your child's school publishes through ClassBoard.

If your child's school isn't yet using ClassBoard, you can simply encourage them to sign up and create an account online. The process only takes a few moments and benefits both parents and teachers by involving everyone in the day-to-day activites of the school.
When viewing your schools ClassBoard account, you can mark an image as a 'favourite' by using the star icon. This is a simple way to let your schools teacher know that you like the particular photograph - its been designed as an easy way to let the teacher know that you appreciate the image.
